ESC at a Glance

Emirates Science Club of the Cultural and Scientific Association in Dubai represents the symbol for science for the youth of this futuristic country, especially through focusing on the spirit of innovation and creativity. The development of scientific talent and skilled young people is necessary in order to create a generation able to build the future and the formation of a solid scientific base through which young people can seek and achieve a better tomorrow.

Emirates Science Club (ESC) focuses on creativity, innovative thinking and acquisition of technical skills. In cooperation with a team of experts and specialists ESC provides the necessary support and care for inventors to be able to translate their ideas into real innovative products.

Foundation : The club was founded on 15 January 1990, and it is one of the committees of the Cultural and Scientific Association.​

Goals

  • Disseminating scientific culture and raising scientific standards to bring about young leaders that will contribute to community’s technological development.
  • Creating an environment conducive for the exercise of scientific activities for young people, discovering their talents and allowing interaction.
  • Discovering scientific talents and skills among young people and developing their capacities for innovation and scientific research.
  • Raising the slogan of “Science for All” in the UAE through scientific publications, lectures, and exhibitions.
  • Developing the ability to communicate with others and exchange ideas with the youth around the world, and encouraging participation in international scientific conferences, exhibitions and competitions.
 

Board of Directors

  • Chairman of the Club’s Board: Dr. Eesa Bastaki.
  • The Members: The Board includes UAE Nationals of renowned scientific profiles possessing high technical capabilities.
  • The management of the ESC is subject to the supervision of a group of experienced UAE National specialists.

Inventions of Young Inventors

 

The members of the Club invented several scientific innovations that have won world competitions, including:

  • Automatic Car Lift invented by Khalfan Al Nuaimi and Taher Juma, who won the second place in Expo Science, Spain.
  • Child Safety Alarm for Cars, invented by the child Mashaael Khalil, and was chosen among top 10 inventions that received great attention in the 3rd Expo Science, Asia in Jordan.
